The house next door faces us with a wall that has no windows at all. St Petersburg has more of those walls than it has screens, and one day we put a projector in front of one.
Blankets are ours. The thermos is up to you. The film starts when the sky stops arguing with the projector, and in this city that hour does not come all year round.

We open when the dark comes back
A projector cannot outshout the sky. Until the sun drops 12 degrees below the horizon, black on brick stays navy blue. Over St Petersburg in summer it never gets that low.
So there is not a single screening from May to July, and that is the sky's schedule rather than ours. The dates below are computed for our own courtyard, not copied from a table.

Two tickets
A seat with a thermos

The same, plus a litre thermos of cocoa or alcohol-free mulled wine. Biscuits come with it, baked by Tanya's mother, and they run out before the film does.

Every seat costs the same wherever it is. By the parapet you see the courtyard, in the middle you hear best, by the chimney it is warmest. Those are different comforts and they cost the same: splitting a roof of twenty-four cushions into classes would be silly.

Worth knowing beforehand
- RainWe decide at seven in the evening. If it pours, the screening moves to the next free night and the bot messages those who booked. Either way, the new date shows up on the ticket, and the seats and code stay the same.
- ColdA roof, September, evening. A blanket helps, a coat helps more. People take the thermos out of necessity, not for the mood.
- QuietThe courtyard sleeps. After eleven we speak softly and the sound goes into headphones, which we hand out at the door.
- MoneyYou pay on the roof, in cash or by transfer. There is no online payment: we are too small to set up card processing.
